Summer 2

Class Saint

Our class saint is Saint Mary. Mary serves as the patron saint of all human beings, watching over them with motherly care                       due to her role as the mother of Jesus Christ.

We will continue to pray to Mary and ask him to look after us and our families.

RE

The RE unit for this half term is PRAYER.

In this unit the children will learn about some of the reasons why Christians pray. They will learn about some styles of prayer and be able to reflect on some of their experiences of prayer during the school year. We will learn the words of the “Hail Mary” and “The Our Father”

P.E

This half term children will be swimming at new horizons every Tuesday.

Please ensure that girls wear a swimming costume and boys wear swimming trunks not shorts.

All children must have a swimming cap and towel. Please make sure all swimwear, towels and swimming bags are labelled with your child’s name.

Reading Diaries

Reading Diaries: Please listen to your child read at least 3 times a week (school policy) and ensure that you sign their diaries. Diaries will be checked every Friday. Please practise any sounds and words that are in your child’s purse.

We will tick them when they recognise them correctly in school.

Please also remember to read regularly on your Bug Club account – this will be monitored each Friday.

READING EVERY DAY WILL HAVE MOST IMPACT
