Northwood Stadium City Track Events

Congratulations to all 4 of our children who were selected to represent Burslem in the City Track Events at Northwood Stadium on the 8th July.

Special congratulation to the children who finished on the podium in their races, results are as follows;

Lewis Dale 3rd (U12s Boys Hurdles and U12s Boys 4x100 Relay)

Amelia Farnell 3rd (U12s Girls Sprint and U12s Girls 4x100 Relay)

Jessica Walklet 3rd (U12s Girls Skipping)

Burslem finished 2nd overall in the City Athletics event this year and it has been fantastic seeing our school so well represented at these events. Well done St. Mary’s athletes.

City Field Events

Huge congratulations to all children who represented Burslem town in the Field Events at Northwood Stadium on the 7th July 2015.

A very special congratulations to Thomas Dowling (2nd U10’s Boys Javelin) and Amy Walton (3rd U11’s Girls Javelin) who finished on the podium in their respective events.

Congratulations to all participants from St. Mary’s Newford field events team who managed to gain 2nd place in the boys field and 4th in the girls field overall.


Individual honours are as follows;

Lewis Dale – 1st in U12’s Boy’s Javelin

Cross Country


Congratulations to the school Cross Country team who took part in the Burslem Primary Schools Cross Country Competition. All ran exceptionally well on a wet and difficult course last Thursday. Well done to all runners.

Year 3 and 4 Mixed Football Tournament  

On the 19th March, a selection of girls and boys took part in the Collegiate and Partners Year 3 and 4 mixed football tournament against other primary schools in the collegiate. The competition level was extremely high throughout and the children performed exceptionally well. Eventually, drawing 2 games and winning 3, St. Mary’s came a fantastic 2nd missing out on 1st narrowly by 2 points. Congratulations to all the children who took part, very well done.



Swimming Gala

Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part in the Swimming Gala on Tuesday 21st April at Fenton Manor, everyone swam exceptionally well and were a credit to the school. Special congratulations to those children that made it through to the final of their respective events and to those who went to win those finals.
