On Monday 10th July the children had a great time at Trentham Gardens to receive their Children’s University certificates. For children to be able to receive their award they have to complete above 35 hours of learning outside of the school day. We are all extremely proud of them! On Thursday 30th June Nursery, Reception and Year 1 went to Llandudno. We had an amazing day – a Punch and Judy show, exploring the beach looking for rocks and shells, enjoying an ice cream and having a walk along the pier. We were all very tired on our journey back to school! Thanks you to all the volunteers who helped out on the day, we couldn’t have done it without you!
To celebrate Father’s day dads, grandads and uncles were invited into breakfast club for a special father’s day breakfast. It was a great turn out enjoyed by all. Happy Father’s day to all!
To celebrate World book day we started our week with author Pippa Goodhart who inspired us with her wonderful stories. On the Thursday, all of the children came dressed as their favourite book character – all of the outfits were fantastic – well done to all the parents for all your efforts. What an amazing week!
To celebrate Mother’s day mums were invited into breakfast club for a special mother’s day breakfast. It was a great turn out enjoyed by all. This was then followed by Year 1’s mother’s day liturgy, well done year 1!
First Aid Course
Well done to all the parents and children who have taken part in a first aid course delivered by Stoke On Trent college. They had lots of fun whilst also learning some very important skills.
The choir were very busy during December sharing out the Christmas cheer! They have sung at North Staffs University Hospital to help raise money for a baby heart monitor, Bradeley Village and Bet 365 Stadium for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. They were a credit to the school and thoroughly enjoyed all of the experiences – well done everyone!
Young Voices 2017
On Thursday 26th January some of the Year 5 and 6 choir members joined over 6,000 other children for the Young Voices Concert, the largest school choir concert in the world, at the LG Arena in Birmingham. We got to learn some awesome dance moves with street dance specialists, Urban Strides and also learnt how to beat box! It was a fantastic night.
If you would like to order a DVD as a keepsake of the night please go directly to the young voices website: http://www.youngvoices.co.uk/
We are already really looking forward to next year’s concert. If you enjoy singing and have lots of enthusiasm and energy, make sure you sign up to the young voices after school club in September.
